This set of postcards documents Theodore Roosevelt's trip to Africa in 1909 after he left the White House. There are 40 postcards in the set all in color featuring ex-President Theodore Roosevelt. Each postcard has a number, title, and brief description on its reverse side. Each is copyrighted 1909 by the Illustration Bureau. Manufactured by The Post Card House, Myrick Building, Springfield, Mass. The box reads "Roosevelt And Africa. A Brilliant Panorama of the Mysterious and Wonderful Dark Continent." The condition of the set is good. The box is coming apart and has tape repairs to hold it together. The postcards are in various states of condition ranging from good to better. On occasion a collector may find single cards available from this series. It is unusual to find the whole set complete with the original box. This is a wonderful collection that documents an exciting time when Roosevelt was considered to be American royalty on the world stage.
