This item is a tie rack or possibly towel rack made with composition material, a mixture of sawdust and polymer material, in the manner of Syroco. It has a label on the back that says “King New York”. We are unable to find any specific information about this company. The rack is quite charming, measuring 11.75 inches long by 5.25 inches tall. With the metal towel or tie bars folded closed, it measures 1.25 inches deep. The metal bars when extended out in the open position are 8.5 inches long. The cast composition material is designed to form a stone wall with two men standing behind the wall. Each man is dressed in what appears to be ethnic garb. The piece is in very good condition with only minor scratches and paint loss due to abrasion. There is minimal chipping and no cracks. It has survived well over the years and is simply a fun piece. There are two hanger eyes on the back. It is totally functional and would look wonderful hanging on a wall for all to see. Who cares what you use for it? It is a great decorative item.
