Pyrography (or wood burning), often referred to as Flemish Art, was a popular decorative style common in the early 1900's. It is often associated with the Arts and Crafts movement because of its simplicity and artistic qualities. We are offering a nice "nut bowl" that has been decorated with pyrography and carefully painted to accent the design. The motif is ripe red cherries hanging in a bunch. The bowl measures about 5 inches in diameter and 1 ½ inches tall. As is common with pieces such as this there is a protective coat of varnish on the surface that has keep the bowl in good condition for all this time. The bowl is clean and sound without any cracks. It is a piece you would be proud to use at your next social gathering or simply put on your desk for display or collecting loose paper clips.
