This is a delightful piece of ephemera for the collector of items relating to Niagara Falls or Shredded Wheat. The booklet is dated 1914 and is printed by Clement Press, Buffalo. It is a softcover item with a stapled cover, many duotone images and four very nice 4-color images. The cover measures 5 ¼ inches by 7 inches. There are 52 pages. It was published as a tourist pamphlet by the Shredded Wheat Company for visitors to "America's greatest cataract with a description of the points of interest in a region of scenic grandeur and beauty." The first part of the booklet has text and images devoted to Niagara Falls, while the later part of the booklet focuses on the manufacturing facility where shredded wheat was made. At the back there are several nicely done color images along with a number of shredded wheat recipes. In all ways it is a delightful and unique souvenir of a much simpler time and a great tourist attraction.
The condition is very good. There is some minor discoloration of the pages due to aging along with scattered smudges on some pages. A pencil owners signature is on the title page. There is a small water stain on one page. The cover corners have some small dogears. The cover is well attached with the staples holding well. Considering its age and that it was never intended to survive for many years, it is in remarkably good condition. A very nicely collectible piece.
