In 1952 Miroslav Havel, Chief Designer of the renewed Waterford company, created the now iconic Lismore - the world’s best-selling crystal pattern. In 1998, the Waterford Society incorporated the Lismore pattern into this limited edition posy vase. It measures 4.4 in. tall x 2.75 in. wide at the shoulder. The year 1998 and WS are etched into the side and it has the original inventory sticker on the bottom. The original pamphlet insert, “Living with Waterford Crystal" is included. Like most Waterford pieces, it is heavy and sturdy, ensuring that it will endure. There are no signs of use, chips or cracks, etc. It is a perfect little sweetie.
Waterford Crystal formed the Waterford Society, a members-only association for Waterford collectors, in 1994. It was inspired by an 18th Century tradition when affluent people could commission a special piece. A unique private collection was created for members of the society. In 2006, the Waterford Society was discontinued, making these items more desirable.
