This delightful piece of hand painted art pottery carries the mark for Erphila and was made in Czecho Slovakia. The mark on the bottom suggests that this piece was made between 1918 and 1921. The company is Ebeling and Reuss based out of Philadelphia, thus the name ERPhila. It is a wonderful ceramic watering can that has been hand painted in a bold floral design in colors that are reminiscent of Clarice Cliff. It stands 6 ½ inches tall, is about 9 inches across from the tip of the spout to the back of the handle, and is 4 inches in diameter on the base. It is a beautiful piece, well painted and proportioned, and in excellent condition. There are no chips or cracks, and only minor crazing of the glaze. This particular design must be fairly rare as we have not been able to locate another piece that is available on the internet.
