This is a neat Navajo pawn tie clip that is decorated with a whirling log design cut from sheet silver and then hammered with star and arrow designs and capped with a single small cabochon cut from a small piece of turquoise. The whirling log decoration is mounted on a clip that appears to be made from a piece of nickel-silver probably manufactured in Germany. This piece clearly predates World War II before Hitler bastardized the whirling log symbol. It was most likely sold to tourists during the 20's or 30's as they traveled the Southwest on the railroad.
The whirling logs design is ½ inch by ½ inch square, the cabochon is slightly shy of 3/16 inches across, and the clip is a little over 2 ½ inches long. The condition is fine. The patina is original and there is no damage whatsoever. It is a nice item that has been fairly priced. You will not be disappointed!
