This walnut hanging match holder is somewhat unique because it displays the Masonic emblem, the divider and T-square. The piece is 11.5 inches long by 6.625 inches wide. It stands out from the wall about 1.375 inches. It is cut from a solid piece of walnut and the Masonic logo appears to all be hand carved. It is in excellent condition and is intended to be hung on a wall using a small hole located at the top of the piece. The surface is covered with a protective layer of varnish that has aged nicely with just a small amount of tight crackling on the surface. It has developed a rich dark brown patina over the years that gives it a look of elegance. If you have a Mason in your life then this would be a great gift for him. If you collect match holders, then this would be a wonderful and unique addition to your collection. No matter what you do with it, the piece will draw comments and be a conversation starter. The back of the piece has an inventory number 136. There is no indication who might have made this piece, but it probably dates to 1880-1900.
