We are offering a wonderful conveniently sized Victorian frame with a set of two fox hunt theme lithographs. The frame is decorated with an attached element that picks up the theme of the lithographs. On the left front side of the frame the attached decoration is a plaque that has a shelf with a brandy decanter and glass along with a second shelf that has a candlestick, or chamberstick, on it. The top lithograph shows a hunt scene with horses and hounds in pursuit of a fox. The bottom lithograph shows a gentleman reclining with a pipe, good book, and a decanter of brandy, all in front of a warming fireplace. The frame measures 10 inches by 13 7/8 inches. The top litho area is 3 ½ inches by 7 ½ inches. The bottom litho area is 6 3/4 inches by 7 ½ inches. The frame is made from dark stained pine and the attached decoration is made from dark stained oak plywood. The front of each side of the frame is slightly rounded, instead of being totally flat. It is a very sweet item portraying a time-gone-by. The condition is good with minor wear that is consistent with age and use. Some minor loss of stain occurs on the edges and corners of the frame probably from light abrasion over the years. The larger of the two lithographs has a small tear about ½ inch long in the upper right corner that is visible under the glass. We have never taken the prints out of the frame and the early protecting backing paper is still in place. This is a nice item that would look good hanging in your tack room, den, or library.
