Made by Navajo artist Anthony Kee this ring has a large Larimar stone. This tropical blue stone is only mined one place in the world and that is the tropical island of the Dominican Republic.
Just a little history note on the stone, just for fun. Larimar was first discovered by Father Miguel in 1916. He asked for permission to mine and export the stone but was denied. Nothing more was heard about the stone until 1974 when Miguel Mendez a Peace Corps worker found a stone on the beach. The natives believed the stone came from the sea and called it Blue Stone, however Miguel renamed the stone Larimar a combination of his daughter name Larissa and the Spanish word Mar which means Sea.
This pretty stone is set in a smooth sterling bezel and accented with sterling twist rope and a scalloped notched edge.
