This pitcher is an outstanding piece of Cased Art Glass. Cased Glass is a process of hand blown glass consisting of two or more fused layers of different colors. The inside layer of this pitcher is milk glass while the outside layers consist of a bright yellow and red with each color requiring another layer. Although this vase is only 4" high it weighs 3/4 of a pound and you can feel the thickness of the glass in the base of the pitcher while the top or mouth of the pitcher is relativity thin. Our pitcher has an applied light amber handle giving it just enough contrast to stand apart gracefully. This lovely piece of art was made by Kanawha Glass Company of West Virginia in the 1960's and would enhance any West Virginia Art or Retro Art Glass Collection.
