Once again I was able to go to the OLD Monday farmers market this week. It is several hours from where we live but it is a half way point when I go to visit my mother in St. Petersburg every 3 to 4 weeks. When I go I always find a few treasures and this pair of earring were one of this month’s find.
The earrings have old Indian head nickels taking center stage. The nickels are set in a heavy sterling setting with rope work on the inside edge and beautiful stamp work on the outside edge. One of the nickels is a little more worn than the other, but it is much more noticeable in the pictures than with the eye. In fact when I purchased the set I did not notice it at all. It was not until I saw the pics that I saw the difference.
The earrings are clip on style. I tried them on and the fit snug but are comfortable and do not pinch.
I do not know if the are Native American made or not, so I am just listing them under vintage because I do not like to say something is Native American made when there is a chance it is not.
