Offered here is another stunning piece featuring outstanding silver paired with one of my favorite stones; Royston turquoise.
The maker of this lovely piece was easy to identify being signed Leon MTZ which is the signature of Leon Martinez. At the age of nine, Leon was assisting his parents with buffering, solder, and setting stones. He also helped his parents make squash blossom necklaces, rings, and bracelets during the high demand for Indian Jewelry in the 1970s. Along with assisting his parents Leon was also inspired by the work of Ernest Begay, which you can see the effects of in his pieces. Leon has been quoted saying: " My Prayers helped me to advance making designs and it helped me to perfect by craftsmanship". And by the looks of this piece his prayers have been answered.
This bracelet features a beautiful piece of Royston turquoise set in a saw tooth bezel and encircled with a finely twisted sterling rope. Outside the rope are stamped buttons and curls. Just outside the center setting are beautifully crafted fan designs.
A unique one of a kind piece that will enhance any collection or be a great beginning to your own collection.
