White Creek Turquoise Bracelet made by Navajo Artist Phillip Yazzie
It is amazing that the clean crisp lines of this sterling full round wire bracelet was considered quite contemporary in the 1980's, now some 35 years later it is still has the same timeless contemporary look.
Made of highly polished full round wire that is fused together at the back and fanned out at the top leaving a graceful clean look for this beautiful White Creek Turquoise stone. Yes, this is turquoise not Calcite which is what the White Buffalo stone is. The major difference is White Creek turquoise, mined out of the White Creek Mines in Nevada, is that it has thin spider veins like you see here and a slight bluish/gray hue. Where White Buffalo, which is also mined in Nevada and is a beautiful stone (but not turquoise) has a heavy kind of a blotchy matrix. The stone is set with a clean saw tooth bezel and finished with a finely twisted sterling rope.
This piece is quite beautiful and was made by Phillip Yazzie.
