This lovely little bracelet was made by Navajo artist Renee Yazzie. The bracelet features Cripple Creek turquoise with its robin egg blue stone with gold matrix. Yes I do mean gold. Most of the Cripple Creek turquoise comes from, or near old gold mines in the region. When I was a child growing up in Colorado I remember they would gravel the roads with debris from the mines and you could actually pick turquoise up off the back streets of Cripple Creek.
The craftsmanship is excellent featuring hand crafted leaves, 4 tiny blossoms and twisted rope around the saw tooth bezel.
It is light weight, weighing in at 11 grams. However the stone is good size and the craftsmanship superb. It will ware beautifully and would be an excellent piece for a teen or small woman.
