This ring was made in the 1970s by a group of young artisans that called their company, Bitter Creek. The ring is signed with their logo which was a burning candle. Although it is not Indian made we carried quite a bit of their jewelry in our stores at the foot of Pikes Peak in Manitou Springs Colorado, and it was very popular. This company strictly made inlay and channel inlay pieces.
The artisans also used turquoise native to Colorado, so by the green color with a golden or brown matrix I would say this stone came out of the Manassa mine in Leadville Colorado. The turquoise is then accented with two narrow strips of jet giving it a striking appearance.
