This Early American Pressed Glass (EAPG) compote is just stunning. The English hobnail bands form a Star of David in interior of the bowl with palm fronds separating the points of the star.
Our bowl is in Excellent Condition without any nicks, chips or cracks. There are two straw marks in the bottom of bowl which can only be seen under close examination under a strong light which is not uncommon for this age of a bowl. The book I have on Antique Glass says straw marks do not decrease the value of the piece.
This lovely bowl stands 8" high by 8 1/2" across the top.
Glows a brilliant yellow green under a long wave black light. I tried to capture a picture of this color but the auto flash reduced the brilliance of the color.
As always Double Boxed for safe travel.
