This beautiful vase was made by Thomas Webb & Sons in the 1920's. It has a mother-of-pearl acid etched basket weave with dark peach to pink shading with a white lining. In addition to the basket weave this vase has been hand decorated in the Coralene technique which is where the artist paints enamel on the object and hand sets tiny glass over the design and then places the object in a muffle which fixes the enamel and sets the beads. With the eye the beads appear to be blue however under the bright lights you can see shades of blue, green and a hint of yellow. It is very difficult to find a piece with both the basket weave and the coralene technique together.
Our vase stands 5 7/8" tall and is in excellent condition. It is marked on bottom with the script acid etched or watermark Webb which was Thomas Webb & Son's logo during the 1920's. It also has an ink mark that was most likely their logo but it is no longer legible.
