Intoxication by D'Orsay of New York & Paris was first introduced in 1938. Then I found a wonderful advertisement on line dated Feb. 4 1949 which pictures the pursette for sale at Sissen Bros-Welden Co. department stores. I have found other information that says the pursette size was introduced in 1948 so it must have been offered for a couple of years.
The perfume was presented in a small ribbed crystal bottle which looks just like the large dresser size only the pursette has a metal crew on cap in place of the crystal stopper featured on the dress size bottle. I presume this was so the bottle could be kept tightly closed so it would not leak out in your purse. The pursette also came with a black satin drawstring bag with a bright pink lining.
Both the bottle and the bag are in excellent condition. The bottle stands 2 1/4" high and is crystal clear without any nicks, chips or cracks. The top does not have any pitting on the metal and finally the little satin bag is also in excellent condition and appears to have never been used. However the original box does show it age.
I will also be glad to include a printed out copy of the advertisement.
