This lovely little piece is Fenton's version of the Grape and Cable Pattern. This pattern was so popular during the turn of the century; each of the major glass companies had their own version. This particular pattern is very hard to distinguish from Northwood's Grape and Cable however Northwood normally signed theirs with an N where the Fenton pieces are not marked. This bowl is in a very attractive pastel marigold with oodles of pink and pastel blue. It has 3 ball feet and Fentons ever popular ruffled edge.
The bowl is free of any nicks, chips or cracks but it does have several straw marks. I have copied the definition of a straw mark from the replacement glass collector guidelines;
Straw marks are sometimes mistaken for cracks, but actually they are just lines on the surface of the glass that occurred in the manufacturing process. A straw mark should not have any negative effect on the value of the glass.
Size: 3 ½ high by 8 in diameter.
