This striking pattern was created by Dugan in the early 1900's and to create this beauty two molds were used. The design displays tiny flowers between wishbone patterns around the edge of the piece. The center consists of a large open petal flower and the center of the petals is stippled. Dotys Carnival Collectors page tells us that the Purple chop plate is always high on every collectors list but the small purple plate (which is what this is) runs a close second. The most interesting thing about this particular piece is the entire edge of this plate has a stretch glass appearance which is just beautiful and I would think this would add to the overall value.
There are no cracks, chips, nicks, flea bites, straw marks or any unusual tool marks. You can see in picture # 3 a thin line running into the plate but this is just part of the stretch marks, this one is just a little longer.
It is very unusual to find a piece this rare in this good of condition.
