This adorable cream and sugar set was among the items in my Mother's estate. Sweet red roses and long, trailing greenery encircle crisp white chinaware, set off wonderfully by deeply molded swirls up the sides.
Its CONDITION is PERFECTION. Almost certainly it was a gift, and instead of using it, Mother put it away. Even the Victorian style burnished gold trim is 100% with NO WEAR, even on the top of the finial or the handles. It is in as close to mint condition as any chinaware that it out of its original box can possibly be. There is absolutely NO sign of any use or damage of any kind.
Both pieces are clearly marked LEFTON CHINA , 912R, Hand Painted with a crown which we understand dates them to the Mid-Century 1950s era.
The pattern is a sweet rose chintz design, set off of the chinaware.
SIZE is perfect for a table for two. The cream pitcher is approximately 4 inches tall at the tip of its spout and the sugarbowl holds approximately one cup.
A perfect way to brighten a springtime table, this set will appeal to Lefton collectors and anyone who enjoys intricate chintz decorations on dinnerware.
