This superb old set of playing card cookie or biscuit cutters was one of the items we discovered in our mother's estate. We believe they date from the 1930s - 1940s.
The shapes are: a Heart; a Club; a Diamond and a Spade -- all playing card suits -- PLUS an extra, OLDER heart cutter (FIVE altogether).
Each cutter is TALL , approximately 2 inches -- for cutting the thickest dough, or making the tallest biscuits or scones ! (The single heart is slightly shorter.)
CONDITION is exceptional ! They are bright old tin with a terrific patina and NO rust or metal problems. They are extremely well made with tight hems on the top edges and sharp cutting edges on the bottom. They are TIGHTLY made with no gaps in any corner.
The only thing we can find less than absolutely perfect is that the Diamond cutter corners are slightly rounded, not sharply creased.
Here is the BEST kind of antique or collectible - you can USE and ENJOY them without harming them!! Perfect for making home made treats, or a fine gift for a card-playing relative or friend !
