Here is a group of SIX wax paper Pepsi-Cola "FREE SAMPLE" drinking cups from my mother's estate. These cups are absolutely authentic, and date from about 1940 - 1941. They were among things that my Dad brought home from the Pepsi bottling plant in Menands (Albany), New York, where he worked.

These are "FREE SAMPLE" cups that almost certainly were NOT made for the general public, but rather would have been used in plants for taste testing, and likely sales pitches to commercial visitors.

Employees almost certainly would have used the cups, too: I remember Pop telling us how the water fountains all had two spigots -- one for water and one for Pepsi! -- and they could drink all the soda they wanted while they were on the job, but they were not to take any home with them.

Each cup is a four-ounce (1/4 cup) size. They are IDENTICAL, all have the same red/white/blue Pepsi logo design and "FREE SAMPLE" printed in an oval. NOTE: The printing is on BOTH SIDES, you can see this in the photos.

Each is printed on the underside of the rim, "PURITAN CUPS" 4 oz. The American Paper Goods Company, Kensington, Conn. MADE IN U.S.A.

CONDITION: They are all in the same "New Old Stock" unused condition with NO tears, NO stains, NO holes and NO crushing. There is graceful age darkening, but the wax coating is 100%.

Wouldn't these look great on display with your prized authentic Pepsi soda fountain items.
