Time's Treasures Railroad & Country
is now SOLDHere is a switch key from the Michigan Central Railroad. It is stamped MCRR on one side of the bow. On the other side is stamped the keystone logo of the Fraim Company. Inside the keystone, a tiny FRAIM is stamped. This particular mark was used in the earliest decades of the 1900s, making the key about 100 years old and an antique.
We confirmed the bit cut in three of our key guidebooks; it is Michigan Central.
This would be a fine addition to any good collection of railway keys. It is an appealing darkening color, with great patina. The stamping is strong, in eyecatching block letters. There is no damage and the key shows just a bit of use with rounded edges on the bit edges and barrel end. There is just the slightest wear at the very top of the bow above the "CR," it is rounded off slightly.
