This nice switch key is from the Wabash Railroad. We confirmed the bit cut in both our American Railways and Don Stewart books. It is stamped WRR in serif Roman letters on one side of the bow. On the other side is a terrific FSHardware diamond logo mark and serial number 15488, above the letter S ("switch").
This key is a fine display with darkening color and good strong markings. The bit edges and barrel end are just nicely rounded. There are a few very shallow, tiny surface dings on the barrel but absolutely nothing worse. Don't let this one get away!
It dates to between 1921, when FSH (Fraim - Slaymaker - Hanton) was formed, until 1930 when the company went out of business.
