This small bowl is a "Glory of the West" pattern piece from the Great Northern Railroad. It is shaped a bit differently from many other small bowls made by its manufacturer, the Syracuse China Company.
Meant to be placed to the right on the diner's place setting, this little dish has a clear Great Northern Railroad bottom marking, and is date coded 4-KK (April 1956).
SIZE is 5 inches across with sloping sides and an upward curved rim that stands a full 1-1/4 inches tall.
CONDITION: NO cracks, chips, flakes or repairs, and terrific strong glaze colors and clear pattern are big pluses for this dish. It has noticeable wear inside the bowl from use, especially in the very center bottom. HOWEVER - if it is stood upright in a display stand, the wear is hard to see and it displays beautifully, with the six pine trees airbrushed over the rim pointing up at the forest and mountain range in the distance.
We have priced it per condition. It would be just fine and look great in a display until a better one comes along. You may have a long wait - we haven't seen many in this shape, in any condition.
