This is a great example of a Union Pacific & Motive Power & Car brass key. We confirmed the cut and the markings in our Johnson book.
This key is stamped UP&MP&C on one side of its bow. There is no maker marking stamped on the other side, but this key is identical in every way to the one pictured in Johnson, which has an FS Hardware logo maker stamp. that particular stamp was used from about 1915 until 1930.
Condition is extremely nice, it's a great display with prominent stamping and a superb deep golden color. There is light wear showing, further documenting its authenticity.
We have had keys marked UP&MP, for Union Pacific and Missouri Pacific, which fit the locks of both roads, but this is not one of those. Our key is strictly from the Union Pacific alone.
