SEVERAL AVAILABLE - This sweet little spoon was made for the New York Central Railroad by the International Silver Company. The pattern name is Century "B" pattern, which was used aboard the famous 20th Century Limited trains.
At only 4-1/4 inches long it would have been used for after-dinner espresso or chocolate, with the appropriate tiny china cup and saucer.
This pattern is shown and discussed in both "Silver at Your Service" (Dominy and Morgenfruh) and "Silver in the Diner" (Fowler).
On the underside of the handle is stamped NY over C. Below that, INTERNATIONAL SILVER appears along the stem.
CONDITION - A superb display: adorable, mirror bright and shiny, with only the very lightest signs of use and no tarnish. It appears hardly used -- there is no yellow spot on the bottom of the bowl from plate loss. Absolutely NO dents, bends or edge nicks.
