This Burlington Route Conductor badge is from the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad. It is nickel-finished brass (not plated) and attaches to a uniform cap with a strap instead of prong fasteners. The strong lettering adds interest. No Burlington badge collection is complete without one of these, no matter its smaller, more utilitarian size and shape.

Size measured straight across (not following the arc) Is approximately 3-5/8 inches long. It is approximately 7/8 inch tall.

This badge is in good used condition, documenting its authenticity. PLEASE SEE OUR PICTURES. There are no bends, twists or splits, but there surface rubs, light scuffs and small discolored areas. The black fill in the letters is extremely good with almost no flaking.

BACKGROUND: Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, the CB&Q existed between 1855 and 1970. A massive railway, it operated in the states of Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, South Dakota, Texas, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
