The only thing missing is the thorns --! This elegant rose floral brooch is three-dimensional, with a tremendous amount of depth that makes it stand out however it is worn. Created by sought-after jewelry designer Danecraft in sterling silver, it focuses on a stem of two incredibly detailed, full-blown roses, each with amazing individual petals. The flowers are set off by realistic leaves complete with veining in them! A fabulous piece for a garden enthusiast or anyone who adores roses!

SIZE is approximately 2 inches long. I do not have a gram scale but my postage scale says .4 ounce, approximately 11 grams weight.

MARKED on the back DANECRAFT ® STERLING (see our picture). Danecraft is well known and sought after for its individualized designs and exquisitely detailed craftsmanship, see below.

CONDITION is PRISTINE. There is no damage and absolutely no repairs or any loose or missing pieces. The silver has developed a patina that only vintage sterling can have, enhancing the depth of the petals in each bloom. The pin is perfectly straight and its safety catch works perfectly. I bought this pin myself in the 1970s, but have not worn it. It deserves a new owner who will enjoy it and show it off!

BACKGROUND: Danecraft emerged from a highly respected background in Italy, where in 1918 a famously talented family of artisans founded Primavera Designs. Their artistic ability and highest quality production techniques earned them a prestigious reputation as jewelry designers and makers, and soon they were producing custom work for the very wealthy and royalty. From that background, Victor Primavera, Sr., immigrated to the United States in 1934, incorporating a new company in Rhode Island that he called Danecraft. As the American branch of the company, Danecraft continues under Primavera family ownership.
