This cute little miniature kettle dates from the 1930s. It is an authentic Wagner Ware "Hot Pot" in superb condition, with wonderful color and patina. There is NO pitting, cracks or other metal damage. It is complete with lid and sharp, clear markings.
SIZE: NOT including the lid, the side height is just under 2.5 inches; it is 4.25 inches across the top. It's heavy, weighing nearly 2 pounds (before wrapping!)
HOT POT is cast into the lid in old fashioned serif Roman letters just below the tab handle. On the bottom is cast the familiar Wagner Ware script logo, over Sidney O (Sidney, Ohio) and the number 1368.
It has a heavy wire bail handle and a pour spout.
We could not find out much information about these Hot Pots -- they may have been made as a salesman sample or a miniature / toy, but they are not from one of the Wagner sets that were sold for children's toys.
This is the perfect antique -- one you can USE carefully and ENJOY without damaging it! Or a great gift for any cast iron kitchenware or cookware collector.
