This is a terrific example of a coach or caboose key from the Grand Trunk Railway. It is a skeleton key style with a solid steel stem. GTR is stamped in block letters on the bow. There is no maker mark.
Condition is excellent, with no damage. There are no bends or twists. The color has deepened to an appealing dark silvery gray.
The Grand Trunk operated between 1852 and 1923, in the Canadian provinces of Quebec and Ontario, and in the American states of Connecticut, Maine, Michigan, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont. Operated from headquarters in Montreal, Quebec, the GTR's corporate headquarters were located in London, England.
