Superb is the only way to describe this terrific pitcher, de-accessioned from The Cloister, a luxurious, well known resort hotel located on Sea Island, on the coast of Georgia.
Made by Syracuse China and bottom marked correctly, this piece is date coded 20B (February 1991).
Holding about 6 ounces comfortably, it is the perfect size to serve milk or syrup for one or two diners; or cream for a party of three or four. Tall and graceful, it is approximately 4 inches tall at the tip of its spout.
CONDITION is as close to mint as not-new china can be. The artwork appears on both sides in strong blues and greens, with no glaze runs, a stylized conception of the Moorish-Mediterranean atmosphere of the resort. There are NO cracks, chips, flakes or repairs, and NO signs of age darkening or yellowing. The pitcher is exceptionally clean inside and out.
Perfect to use reminiscing about a vacation to The Cloister, or just display!
