This is the best Fire-King Turquoise bowl we have ever offered! It is wonderful with no signs of use and strong, solid color with none of the whitish marks that often plague this colored glassware.
This is the 8-inch vegetable bowl, with rounded sides that are 3 inches tall. It was made for use as dinnerware.
The only thing we can find to call less than perfect is the bottom marking which is definitely there, but is not well molded which makes it somewhat hard to read. SEE OUR PICTURES PLEASE!
According to our "Anchor Hocking's Fire King and More" second edition book by Gene Florence, Turquoise Blue glassware was made between 1956 and 1958. Florence notes that despite being made for the dining table, it is marked "ovenware."
We would suggest this bowl would be lovely for actual (but careful!) use. It would also be terrific for a low flower arrangement or to display small items like ornaments at holiday time, or pretty guest soaps in a powder room, as just a few ideas.
