This key is stamped K&IT in serif letters on one side of its bow and a serial number 906 on the opposite side.
Condition is extremely nice: very attractive in rich deep golden brass, it shows just the right amount of wear from use. It displays beautifully.
We would date it from perhaps the 1930s - 1950s, a scarce find from a small railway operation.
BACKGROUND: The Kentucky & Indiana Terminal Railroad was in business from 1910 until 1981 when it was succeeded by the Southern Railway. The Norfolk Southern operates the track today.
