This Fire-King "Tulip" pattern glass grease jar is in fantastic condition with intensely colored decoration, in nearly perfect condition. (We can't call it "perfect" because it is not "mint-in-box".) There is a well defined Fire-King Oven Ware mark raised on the bottom. This is the version with flowers decorating creamy ivory color glass.
CONDITION: There are NO cracks, chips, flakes or repairs in either the lid or the bowl. The three potted tulips on each side are wonderful, VERY strongly colored and with the absolute minimum tiny color chips in the fired-on finish - please SEE OUR CLOSEUP PICTURES! On Side "A" there is one tiny chip in a leaf edge; on Side "B" the farthest right tulip has tiny chipping on its outermost petal.
IMPORTANT - Please note (1) The mold marks show on the lid and knob. (2) There are white "straw marks" in the lid -- These are color variations in the glass, and it was made this way. They show up more in this ivory color that is darker than the white glass. SEE OUR VERY LAST PICTURE PLEASE.
SIZE is approximately 4 inches tall (measuring the bowl without lid) and 5-3/4 inches across.
BAVCKGROUND: Grease jars in several decorations including Tulips were made by Fire-King as part of a range set that included the covered jar and two matching shakers. They are terrific additions to any collection of vintage kitchen glassware!
