Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Brass Switch Lock by FS Hardware - image 1 of 6

This switch lock from the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad is a terrific display! It's beautifully marked, has a fabulous color and great patina and is impressive (it weighs a full pound).

On the body is a flat panel : B.& O. R.R. / F-S HDW.CO authenticating that it was made by the Fraim-Slaymaker Hardware Company, which was in business from 1921 until the late 1930s.

The body is sound and solid, with a thick round shackle, locked shut. Unfortunately we do not have a key.

CONDITION is extremely nice: there is very strong spring in the dust cover over the keyhole. It has darkened to a rich umber with hints of golden brass. There are light bumps and surface dings from use, but no dents or breakage. The steel chain appears to be original.
