This is an absolutely terrific big, heavy lantern globe in intense, dark cobalt blue glass. It is signed Kopp (their "circle K" logo cast near the top), and it is unusual because of the maker.
There are no markings on it other than the Kopp logo, and likely it was made for a railroad inspector or track-walker lantern, because Kopp made railway globes almost exclusively. HOWEVER it will also fit a big tubular frame barn lantern (Dietz, for one, made a number of frames this will fit) or one of the mill types.
This globe is a full 6-1/2 inches tall. The top rim measures 2-3/4 inches across from edge to edge; the bottom rim measures 3-3/8 inches across from edge to edge. It has a very short extended base, 3/16 inches tall and there is an identical 3/16 inch top rim extension.
This big globe weighs an amazing 1 pound 3 ounces (without any packing materials). It is in great condition with only the usual expected small scuffs on the rims. On one side directly below the (K) and about halfway down, there is a group of tiny surface scratches, PLEASE SEE THE PHOTO WITH THE RED "X", these are very light but you can see them and of course the globe can be placed in a frame so they don't show at all.
This is just the most gorgeous, deepest color -- it would look superb upgrading one of your lanterns! Please email with any questions!
