This scarce saucer is from the Union Pacific Railroad. It is a very hard one to find, being marked with the full "Union Pacific R.R." bottom stamp on the in addition to its Syracuse China maker marking.
IMPORTANT: If you need one, we can offer a RR marked bouillon (soup) cup AND/OR a RR marked coffee/tea cup AND/OR a non-RR marked saucer -- see our pictures -- PLEASE ASK !
Size is a full coffee or tea cup size - not a demitasse. It is date coded 91-C which "translates" to March 1961. Besides the letter C, the missing third dot in the row of 12 also confirms the month.
Condition is lovely with a strong bottom marking, and NO cracks, chips, flakes or repairs. The glaze color is attractive in the pastel green shadow-tone that fades into a creamy white. Note that the flower decoration never appeared on saucers; they are plain, as this one is.
The UPRR ordered and used Desert Flower pieces aboard its passenger trains from the 1950s into the 1960s.
