This tumbler from the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad was made by the Libbey Glass Company. It dates from the mid 1940s until the later 1950s, when this "Linking 13 Great States" logo was being used by the railway. An exceptional side logo graces this glass. It is frosted (I thought at first it was cut because it is so strong, but I was mistaken - it is frosted.)

CONDITION is beautifully crystal clear, with NO cracks, chips, surface scuffing or cloudiness.

SIZE: In the Libbey catalog, this is a "milk" glass. It holds 8 ounces and is 3-5/8 inches tall and 2-3/8 inches across the top.

Examples of this glass are shown in "Sparkling Crystal," the railroad glassware collector guide by Larry Paul. The name of its wavy-sided shape is "Governor Clinton." The rim is rolled to discourage chips and cracks, a safety feature developed by Libbey, which called it "No-Nik." On the bottom of the glass, Libbey's trademark scrolling letter "L" is embossed.
