This unusual tin cup has an extra-long handle so it could reach to the bottom of the tallest container. It is stamped BM on the front of the cup, for the Boston & Maine Railroad. It would have been used for supplying drinking water to crew working on a train-related job at a remote location.
This is a full 16 inches long, including a handy top hanging loop and a standard size cup that is about the size of a coffee mug.
Condition is extremely nice with NO metal problems. All of the edges have rolled edges for safety. The hanging loop is metal with its ends running down the handle sides secured by the rolled edges. There are NO dents, splits or cracks. All the soldering is strong and secure. The handle is tightly affixed to the cup. There is just a tiny bit of surface (surface only) rusting but nothing worse.
You could give this a cleaning and use it !
An unusual railway tin item, that would be a conversation starter in any collection !
