This is a rare example of a women's Chatelaine Watch pin. It is made of lower grade silver (less than 925 parts per 1000) and is not marked but has been tested., The brooch length is 5 1/2 inches from the top of the pin to the bottom of the ball watch. The top pin is 2 inches across and 9/16 inch at its widest. The ball watch is 1 1/8 inches across. The dial has some hairline cracks and is marked G.H. Oudin Palais Royal 52. The movement appears to be French as well. This watch is working and has its ball topped key for winding and setting. There are plenty of surface scratches on the glass balls, but no deep gouges, cracks or chips.C. 1860 and French. A true survivor!
