This exceedingly rare piece is marked GV and Co. for Gourdel, Vales and Co. This company started in Paris in 1827 and started its London counterpart in 1857. This piece is from the London location and would date to about 1890. It is not marked for gold content but tests to gold of 9k using the acid test method. The six sided piece has a one of hearts, King of hearts, seven of clubs, Jack? of clubs, 10 of diamonds and queen of spades, all done beautifully in enamelling. The condition is very good with only the slightest bit of enamel loss. This piece measures 22mm tall and 9mm across. A real treasure!
