Donald Stannard was a designer with Kenneth Jay Lane, and while his items under his own signature are often hard to find, when one can find them it is a thrill because of the quality and design. From the early 1980's this 19 strand torsade necklace is made up of faux glass pearls in various sizes and without being twisted is just under 18 inches long, but is quite thick and heavy. The gold tone clasp is super in itself and is signed on the back and looks great when worn on the side. The condition is excellent with the glass pearls having no issues and feel so smooth, looking like fine jewelry. This is a rare piece and will be cherished for a long time to come. It does not look like costume when worn.
