I had to take a double take on these. First I thought they were earrings and then dress clips, but I will thrilled to find out they were fabulous brooches. Again, while I thought they were identical, one is larger than the other, which makes for a slight for beautiful contrast when worn together. One is 2 inches long and 1 5/8 inches wide and the other is 2 inches long and 1 1/2 inches wide. The pendant portion of the larger brooch is about 1/4 inch bigger than the smaller one. I took pictures with and without a flash.
Both are signed on the back and are older examples of Haskell's beautiful work. The design, wiring and quality are all superior. The condition is very good with wear to the spacers and and a little on the gold tone which is almost always present on Haskell items of this age. The magnification makes it look worse, and when worn, nothing is obvious or noticeable. When examining it under a loupe to described it, I just noticed that on the smaller brooch, a few pearls that circle the large pearl are missing, so I have priced it accordingly. I did not notice it before and I have looked these over many times. These are truly fabulous and I believe you will be pleased as these can be worn so many ways and would look super next to strands of pearls too.
Thank you for visiting my store and please take a look at my other Haskell items.
