This is one of four postcards in the "Smile of Paris" fashion series that I currently have available. There are actually 8 designs in the series and it's quite difficult to find a complete series, but I'm always working on it! This one with the bold orange gown is one of my favorites. Two ladies are headed to the Paris Opera House. Please note that I spent a lot of time trying to tweak the colors but finally gave up, so let me point out that the orange is bold and rich but the night blue sky is not as purple as it looks (at least on my screen). This card is unusual also because it is the first one I've ever found that's actually been written on! The sender didn't note the date but the time. I didn't try to translate all of her message but in the corner she notes, "I find the reverse side very artistic!!" I agree:)
Just over 4 inches wide and about 5.75 inches tall. Unused and in very good condition except for the slightest hints of signs of wear at the corner tips and top edge. Circa 1953-1955. To see all the cards in this series now available, as pictured in the last two photos, use the phrase "monument" in the word search box.
