This French postcard features a town view of Limeil-Brévannes, a commune in the southeastern suburbs of Paris, France, about 9 miles from the center of the City of Lights. The building is the town hall and schools. But what really makes this postcard extra special is the extra inch added, good for a "ticket" for a "demi kilometre" of a free train ride. According to the instructions verso, as best as I can translate: "There exists in all cities Voyage Cards. These cards give the voyager free travel on all railway lines. The collector has only to detach the tickets and send them to (Paris address). He will be sent by return a good usable ticket ... equal to the amount of kilometers represented by tickets mailed in. The tickets are refunded only as far as they bear the marks of the postal franking. Valuable until 1916."
The postcard measures 6.5 by 3.5 inches. Light stains and wear at corner tips. Otherwise,in fine vintage condition. A unique card for the deltiologist's collection!
