Here's a good start to a Barribal collection. You certainly couldn't forget this lovely redhead, looking so feminine and poised in black and white. The card of the lass dressed in yellow offers greetings in French and English. The sender added their own Bonne Annee greeting. Obviously, since the backside is unused, this card must have been sent in an envelope. Each about 3.5 by 5.5 inches. Circa 1917 or earlier. Wear on the edges as to be expected for a paper product a century old, but no creases!
William Henry Barribal (1874–1952) was a London artist, designer and painter. His work appeared on postcards, in magazines, on playing cards and on cigarette cards, too.
