This is one of two Georges Desains hand-painted postcards I have available. The other one is listed here:
What's special about this one is that it is indeed artist signed. But not just artist-signed as in printed at the bottom of the card (like a Mucha art reproduction). No, this is an original postcard hand-painted and signed by the artist. It's not a Van Gogh, but ... :)
The light beige background of the card shows some age. The card has a light crease. I didn't even notice it myself until I scanned in the backside. It doesn't show up well in the scan on the front side, so I've circled the area. Nonetheless, overall, for a postcard mailed in 1909, I'd still classify this card as in fine antique condition. Typical antique size, about 5.5 by 3.5 inches.
If you look at the partial franking circle on the stamp verso -- this is a great example of a postcard that was no doubt mailed in a "hole" envelope. Something I just learned about on my recent trip to France after visiting the postcard museum in Antibes.
